Salmonella spp. were isolated from renal granulomas of olive ridley turtles from the Pacific Ocean. Whole genome shotgun sequencing was conducted on these isolates to understand the evolutionary relationships among these pathogens and previously characterized Salmonella isolates. Several additional isolates from birds and turtles were also sequenced for comparison.
